FAQs
Is the cabin pet-friendly?
Although we love animals, sadly we have a strict no-pets policy. However, there is a close by Bowen Island Dog Ranch which you can email (info@bowendogranch.com) or call (604) 947-6965. Prices range from around $88/night and the address is 1302 Adams Road for context.
Is the cabin kid-friendly?
We’ve hosted multiple parents and one of them even said it’s “the most kid friendly Airbnb they’ve stayed at”. Each bedroom has blackout blinds. No expensive items are within ground reach. We have one playpen available for emergencies, but we do encourage parents to bring their own playpens and strollers to make the most of the area. There is a separate living room from the bedroom to allow for babies to sleep in a quiet area while parent(s) rest in a close by zone. We also have 1 high chair in each suite.
How much is golf / how do you book a tee time?
Bowen Island’s 9-hole golf course costs $40/round and you can book a tee time by heading online or by calling them directly at 604-947-4653. They also have a great restaurant (no need to book in advance) called “The SHED” open from 12-8 pm most days of the week. But be sure to check online as hours vary.
How does the Sauna work?
The Sauna is electric and made by Nootka Saunas, based in Squamish B.C. It takes 5 minutes to heat up and ca be a great way to start the day, stay warm or loosen up before you head to bed. We recommend you do sessions of ~20 minutes working in the cold bath for 1 minute before taking a break and entering the sauna again. You can watch this 5-minute video to learn more.
Do I need to book a ferry reservation to get to Bowen Island?
No. The Bowen Island ferry runs every hour from 5AM to 11PM 7 days per week. The best website is BowenFerry.ca. On the website, you can see where the ferry is, the times of the day and if the ferry is delayed. We recommend parking in line, giving yourself 30mins-1 hour, then enjoying a walk in Horseshoe Bay or Snug Cove while you wait for the ferry to arrive. P.S. Head up to the sun deck to enjoy the views. You may even spot a whales or two!
